Sure, the Florida Lottery offers money to players, but now they’re revving things up: One person this summer will win what the lottery calls “free gas for life.”
Florida Lotto players who spend at least $5 are eligible for bonus prizes from Wednesday through July 11.
First off will be 1,000 instant $50 winners each week. Everyone else gets an entry number they can log into the lottery’s web site under under the “Gas for Life” section at FloridaLottery.com….
Then each Thursday, from May 31 through July 12, the lotto will announce online the number for the 50 prizes of “gas for a month” ($300), as well as five “gas for a year” ($3,600) winners. All payments are in $100 gas cards.
The biggie is July 12, with “gas for life,” which consists of $3,600 in gas cards for life (minimum of 20 years), or a cash option of $72,000 (less taxes).
Meanwhile, partway through the promotion is a “pit stop.” On June 14, the lottery is giving away a VIP trip to two races in Daytona Beach July 6-7. The races are the Subway Jalapeno 250 Powered by Coca-Cola and the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola. Because it ain’t racing if there aren’t multiple sponsors.
